Fast-track Access January Start

We run a fast-track Access to Business and Access to Computing course starting in January so you can apply in this round of UCAS and secure a place for 2017.

Are you thinking of studying for a degree at university or other higher education course? If so, you may be interested in one of our Access to Higher Education courses at Richmond Adult Community College.

These courses will help to provide you with the skills and confidence you need for success in Higher Education and in your future career. Access courses allow you to gain the equivalent of A Levels in the space of a year. Our courses are part-time so that you can work whilst completing the qualification.

Access to HE courses are free to eligible 18-23 year olds. Those over 19 can also access an Advanced Learner Loan so there are no upfront fees. If you progress to university you will not need to repay your loan at the completion of your degree.

We understand the importance of work/life balance and you will get a free exercise or leisure course during your studies.

How to apply

We offer a one-to-one interview with you to discuss which course is right for you. We can help you find the entry requirements to any particular course or university you wish to progress to. There is extra help available with English and Maths, and free qualifications in these areas if required. We have an onsite crèche for children aged six months to four years.

Help to pay for your course

We can provide information about options to help you finance your course. You may qualify for a free course if you are aged between 18 and 23 when your course starts and it is your first full level 3 qualification.

For learners aged 19 and over the Advanced Learner Loan is available to cover the cost of course fees. If you progress to university you will not need to repay your loan at the completion of your degree.

What support will I receive?

You will have a personal tutor who will support you with your studies. You will also receive career guidance and comprehensive help with your UCAS university application. If you have a learning difficulty and/or disability such as dyslexia, we may be able to provide additional learning support; please discuss this at your interview. Please be aware that there is a significant level of commitment required to successfully

complete this course but we support you at every stage.

What qualification will I achieve?

Successful students will receive an Access Diploma issued by the Open College Network London under licence from the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education.
