Course Overview:

This course is suitable for those adults looking to take part in a photography course that focuses on improving health and mental wellbeing.

This course is part of the Wellbeing Project which is a national project researching how learning can help your wellbeing. You will need to attend an interview to confirm your eligibility for the course and fill in a questionnaire at the start, during, and at the end of the course.

Maths and English Assessments

Before your tutor interview you are also requested to take an online assessment in Maths and English at the college. This will help us ensure that the course is suitable for you and that you have the right English and maths skills to enjoy the course and succeed.

Course Content:

You will be given support, encouragement and tips to build your focus and concentration whilst learning the basics of photography techniques such as:

• Introduction to composition, including rules of thirds
• Portraiture
• Landscape photography
• Macro photography

Whilst improving your skills of observation and also getting out and about and making new friends, you will be able to enhance your focus and mindfulness.

Bring To First Class:

If you have a digital camera, please bring your own one with a fully charged battery and SD card with space for taking photographs. Any student who does not have a camera can borrow one from the college to use in the class or on the college campus site grounds.
