Course Content
Each session will involve reading and getting feedback on an assignment written during the week. There will also be input from the tutor on a different topic each week as you learn about the key aspects of journalism.
At the end of the course you will know how to:
Target your readership
Find a strong angle for your articles
Write an engaging intro
Conduct an interview
Structure an article or blog
Edit your material
Pitch ideas to editors
Understand the periodical publishing process
Understand the technical terms
You will also have amassed a portfolio of articles.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
Not tutor approved. Good written English required

Attendance Requirements
A key component of the subject will be covered in each session so attendance is very important. It is also important to complete the assignment each week in order to get the most from the course.
Assessment Methods
Learners will be asked to state their goals at the start of the course and encouraged throughout the course to feedback to the tutor if they feel they are not progressing as they had hoped.
